When looking for a real estate agent you might want to choose one who is a realtor©. A realtor© is a real estate agent who belongs to the National Association of Realtors©.

So why would this make a difference? Well, an agent who belongs to that association has to subscribe to a rigid code of ethics that defines proper and improper agent behavior. Further, the Association can and often does enforce penalties against agents who engage in improper behavior.

Its still important to interview at least three potential real estate agents before making your decision. Sometimes you might want to go the extra step to afford yourself a little more protection.
